Na'Aina Kai Botanical Gardens ($ 40 for recommended 2 1/2 hour tour that must be arranged in advance. Other guided tours available 808-828-0525) is at the end of Wailapa Road. Reserve Taxi or Reserve Tour Kilauea: This former plantation is known for the Kilauea Lighthouse (808-828-1413) There is a small fee to park by the lighthouse and view it. This is a self-guided tour. Directly offshore is a bird sanctuary, Moku'ae'ae Island. Driving north of Kilauea is Banana Joe's fruit stand for local products, including frosties. Reserve Taxi or Reserve Tour Kalihiwai: The first Kailhiwai Road leads to Kalihiwai Bay, the dirt road leads to Secret Beach and the Secret Lava Pools. The second Kalihiwai Road leads to 'Anini Beach, which is one of the most safest places on the north shore to to swim and snorkel. Reserve Taxi or Reserve Tour Princeville: This is another resort area of Kauai. Named after Prince Albert. The Princeville course is located on your right.. If you enjoy hiking, there is the 10 1/4 Powerline Trail that either ends or starts here, depending on where you start. Different hikes include Hideaways and Queen's Bath (natural pool located on a lava bench). Take a moment to dine or shop at the St. Regis Princeville. Finally, there is the Hanalei Lookout as you are going up to Hanalei. Reserve Taxi or Reserve Tour Hanalei: Meaning crescent or wreath-shaped. The entire bay is all beach. Famous north shore surfing during winter is done here.The final turn-out, is Lumaha'i Beach lookout. This lookout was in the movie "South Pacific" back in 1957. Reserve Taxi or Reserve Tour Ha'ena: Going up to the end of the road, you will pass Wainiha Beach Park, Tunnels Beach, and then the road dips to Ha'ena Beach Park. Across the street from Ha'ena Beach Park, is Manini-holo Dry Cave. Driving north, there is Limahuli Stream, and then Limahuli Gardens (808-826-1053). They have guided tours for $ 25 and self-guided for $15. This is with reservations only. Limahuli is part of National Toprical Botanical Gardens. Past the stream is the Waikapala'e Cave (must hike a short trail to reach these wet caves) and Waikanaloa Cave on the road. The Waikapala'e Cave contains freshwater pool. Heading north, and the end of the road, is Ke'e Beach (Na Pali Coast begins) that is marked by a lagoon. This is also where the famous Kalalau trail starts.
