Wailua
/ Kapa'a: One of the easiest falls to see is the 'Opaeka'a Falls
Lookout on Kuamo'o road. Wailua River Lookout is across from the 'Opaeka'a
Lookout. At the end of this road is Kaua'i's Hindu Monastery (808-735-1619)
where they offer free tours by reservation. Best view of Sleeping Giant
can be done from the Chevron Station. Riverboats on the Wailua River,
can take you to the Fern Grotto for $20 per person. Many marriages are
staged here, as this an amphitheater filled with ferns. Lydgate Beach
Park has some of the most longest sandy walks on the eastside. Lydgate
Beach Park is also good for snorkeling. Smith's Tropical Paradise is on
the other side of Wailua River and the entrance is $ 6. They also hold
lu'au's. Going south toward Lihue, is Wailua Municpal Golf Course. The
course's beach side is Nukoli'i Beach.

/ Puhi: Wailua Falls is off Highway 56 and going towards Lihue.
The Kauai Museum (808-245-6931) is located off of Rice Street and the
admission is $ 7 per person. Further down Rice street is Nawiliwili Harbor
where the cruise ships come in. Rice street loops into and becomes Nawiliwili
Road. You will also find Anchor Grove Shopping Center, Anchor Grove Mall
and Kalapaki Beach. The entrance through Kauai Lagoons (Kauai Marriot)
to either Ninini/Running Waters Beach or the Ninini Lighthouse. Grove
Farm Homestead Museum (808-245-3202) is the private home of George N.
Wilcox and is a Museum on Nawiliwili Road.Tour Groups of 6 for 2 hours
are done at $ 10 per person. Tours are Mon. Wed. and Thur and reservations
are required. Menehune Fish Pond overlook (adjacent to the Hule'ia Stream),
is off of Wap'apa road off of Nawiliwili Road. Kukui Grove Shopping Center
(across from Costco and Home Depot) is on 50 Hwy (Kaumuali'i Hwy). This
is the biggest shopping center on Kauai. Gaylords Restaurant is inside
Kilohana, which also has several shops, galleries, Koloa Rum Company,
and lu'ua. Gaylords offers a sunday brunch at a reasonable price.
